Affiliate relationships do not influence our keyboard reviews, our ratings, or our recommendations. Full stop. A brand running a higher commission rate doesn’t get a better score. A manufacturer that sends a free review unit doesn’t get a guaranteed thumbs-up. Our job is to tell you what’s actually worth buying, and that only works if you can trust the verdict.

If a $90 board outperforms a $200 board in our testing, we’ll say so, even when the cheaper one pays us less.

Every recommendation on this site comes from hands-on testing, not spec sheets or press releases. When we evaluate a keyboard, we put it through real-world use over days or weeks. We look at:

  • Build quality — case rigidity, plate material, stabilizer wobble, any obvious manufacturing shortcuts
  • Switch feel — actuation force, tactility, smoothness, factory lube quality
  • Typing experience — long-session comfort, sound profile, key wobble, keycap feel
  • Gaming performance — polling rate, N-key rollover, latency, layout suitability
  • Value — what you actually get for the price compared to alternatives in the same range

That’s the standard behind every set of mechanical keyboard recommendations and honest keyboard buying guides we publish.

Sponsored Content and Free Review Units

Manufacturers sometimes send us free keyboards, switches, or keycaps to review. When that happens, we’ll tell you in the article — usually right at the top.
